Frequently Asked Questions
What is Kalinya Estate and where is it located?
Kalinya Estate is a five-star luxury retreat set on a private five-acre property in Bargo, New South Wales. It’s a heritage-listed estate featuring premium accommodations and beautifully designed spaces, located about a one-hour drive from Sydney CBD. Kalinya Estate serves as an exclusive venue for group getaways and special events, offering a stunning country setting at the gateway to the Southern Highlands.
How many guests can Kalinya Estate accommodate in total?
The Kalinya Estate can comfortably host up to 38 guests when booking all accommodations together. The property features three distinct guest houses — The Homestead, The Lodge, and The Barn — as well as The Orchard Rooms, all just a short stroll apart through the gardens.
The Homestead accommodates 16 guests, The Lodge another 10 guests (for a total of 26), The Barn adds 8 more (bringing it to 34), and The Orchard Rooms provide space for an additional 4 guests, completing the estate’s total capacity of 38.
With its range of elegant accommodations and shared resort-style facilities, Kalinya Estate is ideal for large family gatherings, wellness retreats, or wedding parties, allowing everyone to stay together in comfort and privacy.
Will our group have exclusive use of the estate during our stay?
Yes. Kalinya Estate only accepts one booking/group at a time, so your group will enjoy exclusive private use of the entire six-acre estate. You won’t be sharing the houses or facilities with any other guests. This privacy is great for events and reunions – you’ll have the gardens, recreation facilities, and accommodations all to yourselves.
What facilities and activities are available on-site for guests?
Guests at Kalinya Estate can enjoy an exceptional range of resort-style facilities designed for both relaxation and recreation. Highlights include a 17-metre heated swimming pool, therapeutic hot tub, gym, and courts for tennis, squash, and the ever-popular pickleball, along with a basketball half court for casual games.
Indoors, guests can unwind in the newly upgraded cinema, enjoy the elegant piano lounge, or have fun with billiards, foosball, air hockey, and vintage arcade games. Outside, the gardens offer yard games like cornhole, chess, and bocce, while friendly resident animals, an orchard, and a natural pond create a peaceful country atmosphere.
Whether you’re looking to stay active, entertain the group, or simply relax, Kalinya Estate has something for everyone.
What are the booking requirements (minimum stay and check-in/check-out times) at Kalinya Estate?
Kalinya Estate has a two-night minimum stay policy, allowing guests to enjoy a truly unhurried and immersive experience. Check-in begins at 3:00 PM on the day of arrival, and check-out is by 11:00 AM on the day of departure.
Pets are welcome onsite for weddings but are not permitted inside the accommodation. Smoking is allowed only in designated outdoor areas to ensure the comfort of all guests and to preserve the estate’s heritage buildings.
